Laura Adams, CTA

Certified Travel Advisor & Wellness Travel Specialist

About Me

In 2011, I stumbled into the travel industry when a tour operator specializing in travel to Cuba took a chance on me, a young woman with no background in travel; and later built a position around me. Destinations have been added over the years and the knowledge I have gained is immeasurable. Now, I want to continue providing people with memorable trips they will talk about for years to come.

I specialize in luxury travel including all-inclusives, wellness travel, cruises, and more. With hours of training and continued education, I hold credentials in numerous cruise lines, destinations, resorts, and industry suppliers.

Research comes naturally to me as does creating something beautiful. By combining those two, I can assist you in creating a trip I know will meet and exceed your expectations. If you have questions regarding a particular resort or destination, please do not hesitate to ask.  I truly look forward to working with you.

What is a CTA?

I am a Certified Travel Associate (CTA), having earned my designation from The Travel Institute, the oldest and most respected non-profit certification organization in the travel industry. In addition, I also hold my certification as a Wellness Travel Specialist.

These credentials require that I have at least 18 months of travel industry work experience, completed rigorous certification and testing, and continue to fulfill stringent education credit requirements each year. Much like an accountant or doctor with their respective credentials, my CTA designation means that I am committed to upholding the highest standards of my profession while providing expert advice to my customers.

Favorite Place to Visit

Ireland

Galway to be specific. From the moment I exited the train station and stepped out into the cool spring mist, I was mesmerized. Everything about this charming city made me seriously considering a move around the world! The friendliness of the people, the charm and liveliness of the Latin Quarter, and the stunning architecture and views. I certainly love every part of Ireland I’ve seen, however, Galway completely stole my heart.

Telamon Travel: Behind the Name

The name Telamon Travel has an interesting history. In Greek mythology, Telamon was a famous hero. In European architecture, a telamon is the sculpted form of a man as a column or pillar, also known as atlas.

Atlas was the Greek Titan God of the heavens. The Roman sculpture, called the Farnese Atlas, is located at the National Archaeological Museum of Naples, in Italy.

Taking it one step further, an atlas is a collection of maps bound in a book. The name derives from the Titan God, Atlas, as he was depicted carrying the world on his shoulders.

So while the meaning of the name Telamon Travel may be longwinded, I chose it because it encompasses the world (Atlas) and travel (atlas).
