Telamon Travel is personal to me. The name comes from a symbol of support and strength, which is exactly what I aim to provide throughout the planning process.

Our canine team members are a regular presence at Telamon Travel, often nearby during planning sessions, occasionally appearing on video calls, and bringing a steady, grounding energy to the day. As part of our daily lives, they’re always close by, and while they’re not involved in the planning process, they remain consistently focused on snacks, naps, and attention. What stood out most to me was how the city feels both grand and lived in. The history is constant, but it never feels distant.

Little Gem: Take a sunset cruise on the Danube. Seeing Parliament illuminated from the water is a highlight.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Cabo stands out for its natural setting, where desert landscapes meet the Pacific and Sea of Cortez.

What stands out most to me are the whales. Seeing them breach just offshore is something you don’t forget.

Little Gem: Join a sunrise whale-watching tour in a small boat. The early light and quieter waters make the experience even more memorable.

Český Krumlov, Czech Republic

Český Krumlov is a storybook town, with winding streets and a castle overlooking the entire town.

The old-world charm completely swept me away. Every cobblestone street felt like a fairytale come to life.

Little Gem: Look into the castle moat. Bears have been kept there for centuries, a tradition that still continues today.

Edinburgh, Scotland

Edinburgh centers around its historic Old Town, where the castle overlooks a network of narrow closes and layered history.

I’m still convinced the spirit of my hotel kept turning on my shower. Edinburgh doesn’t hide its ghosts. It leans into them.

Little Gem: Have dinner at The Kitchin, then join a ghost walk through the Old Town. It’s a memorable way to experience both sides of the city.

Galway, Ireland

Galway is known for its coastal setting and strong local culture, with live music, walkable streets, and a social atmosphere that’s easy to step into.

One of my favorite experiences was a side trip to Cong, where we came across a buried stone wall behind the abbey. I still have questions about where it leads.

Little Gem: Stop into a local pub for trad music. It’s one of the easiest ways to experience the city and its energy.

Havana, Cuba

Havana reflects a mix of preserved architecture, layered history, and daily life that feels both lived in and enduring.

Dinner at La Guarida is one of my all-time favorite memories. It’s iconic for good reason, and yes, it’s featured in the film Fresa y Chocolate.

Little Gem: Afterward, head up to the rooftop bar. A mojito in hand with the city stretching out around you is hard to top.

London, England

London moves between historic landmarks and distinct neighborhoods, with each area offering a different perspective on the city.

One of my quirkiest discoveries was Sir John Soane’s Museum. It feels like stepping into the eccentric mind of a collector, brilliant and bizarre in the best way.

Little Gem: Plan for afternoon tea at Claridge’s or The Ritz. It’s a classic London experience done exceptionally well.

New York City, New York

New York is shaped by its pace, scale, and constant movement across neighborhoods, culture, and experience.

My perfect day includes the Guggenheim in the afternoon, the Whitney downtown, and a stay at The Standard, High Line, especially with the skating rink just outside in winter.

Little Gem: Book dinner at The Standard Grill, or head to the Biergarten for something more relaxed. Both offer a great sense of the neighborhood.

Oʻahu, Hawaii

Oʻahu brings together mountain landscapes, coastline, and local culture in a way that’s easy to experience within a single day.

One of the most meaningful things I learned is that leis aren’t souvenirs. They’re meant to be returned to the earth, with care.

Little Gem: Return your lei respectfully to the land or sea, then plan an early start for the Makapuʻu Lighthouse hike. The views at sunrise are worth it.

Rome, Italy

Rome layers ancient landmarks with everyday life, where history is part of the city you move through.

I’ll never forget a private evening tour of the Colosseum. The quiet atmosphere made the experience feel completely different from the daytime crowds.

Little Gem: Ask your guide to pause along the way. Some of the best moments in Rome come when you take your time.

Saint Lucia

Saint Lucia stands out for its dramatic landscape, with the Pitons, rainforest, and coastline all within easy reach.

Staying in a Rondoval Suite with butler service felt like having a private sanctuary where everything was handled without needing to ask.

Little Gem: Charter a boat to Sugar Beach for lunch at the Viceroy. Sitting between the Pitons is a view that’s hard to match.

Venice, Italy

Venice is built around its canals and historic architecture, with no cars and a layout that feels entirely its own.

The best way to experience Venice is to get lost. Let the canals guide you. And if you can, take a glass-blowing workshop at Murano. It’s incredible to see up close.

Little Gem: For a splurge, have an aperitivo on the terrace at the Gritti Palace and watch gondolas pass by. And if you happen to find a tiny trattoria serving white lasagna, please share! I’m still looking.
